A year after Ashe and her family were exiled from Fen-Vault, she wanders the wastelands looking for a purpose in her life when she reluctantly rescues an enigmatic child, Jade, and discovers he may be the key to solving the problem which destroyed interstellar civilization.
Atom Bomb Baby follows the survivors of a galactic-wide calamity as they find new friends, fight against unjust oppression, and ultimately uncover the truth behind the fall of civilization. It appeals to fans of Science-Fiction, Dystopian, and Urban Fantasy. Enthusiasts of Atompunk video games The Outer Worlds and Fallout should find it a welcome expansion of the genre.
25 years ago the Kraal appeared across all the galactic worlds from another dimension out of time and space. They fed upon the essence of living creatures and were attracted to large gatherings of people. Within months they killed 98% of the intergalactic population. Along with this came the Warden’s “cleansing,” as an attempt to fight the Kraal, where they nuked most of the worlds. In the end, everything collapsed, leaving those few survivors to pick over the ruins of their lost civilization—an intergalactic wasteland, with communication and travel controlled by only a handful of power groups, like the Wardens and Star Rangers.
